About the Race

The 5K, 10K, Kids Fun Run race will begin at 8:30 am on September 14th, 2024 at the Clawson-Burnely Park on the Greenway Trail in Boone. This is a Family Friendly Race, so Children of all ages are welcome to run/walk as well. Strollers and dogs are permitted. All races will begin at the park. The Kids Fun Run will be a 1 mile race. Route is still pending. The 5K will go to the section on the greenway trail near the water treatment plant. There, you will see a water station to rehydrate. 10K route will go past the 5K turn around to the end of the paved greenway, turn left across the bridge, then right onto the gravel road Hew River Hills. We will run under Deputy William Mast, Jr. Bridge, past Ted Mackorell Soccer field, where you will see the water station/turn around. This is a timed race, but it welcomed for seasoned runners and for community members that just want to take part in this great cause and event. At the end of the race, we will have a celebration. We will do awards, and just enjoy being together and honoring these great people we run to remember. Please join us and help us as we never forget!
