Who Are We?
Hunter's Heroes Team wishes to inspire us to remember those that gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to the community and also to embrace the loved ones that lost someone too soon. Hunter’s Heroes started as a Memorial Run for Deputy William Mast Jr. who died suddenly in the line of duty. His son, Hunter Mast, was born 17 days later. We honor public safety officers and military personnel for their service to North Carolina and to the United States. Our intentions are to remember and celebrate their commitment and to provide financial support to their families in times of need.
We have be truly honored to say, that through our Races, Community Dinners, and our recent Jeep Raffle, we have been able to help so many wonderful heroes and families. We want to thank all of our supporters for helping us make this all happen.

12th Annual Hunter's Heroes Race 2026
This year’s race is in honor of Brittany Moose Berry. Brittany passed away May of 2025, after her heroic battle with colon cancer. Brittany’s pride and joy was her family. She was married to her husband Terran Berry for 19 years. They have 7 beautiful children, that she adored and loved more than life itself. She lived life to the fullest and her smile would light up the room. Brittany is a Boone native and was a faithful member at Trinity Baptist Church. Brittany and her husband Terran, are both faithful members of Stewart Simmons Fire Department and served for 17 years.
Please Join Us for the 12th Annual Hunter's Heroes Race on Saturday, September 12, 2026, as we run to honor/remember Brittany’s life and raise funds to help her family with expenses. We will have our 1 mile Fun Run for our kids 2-10 years old. This race will begin at 8:00am. We will also still have our 5k and this will began at 8:30am.

Local Heroes
We are so proud to be having our 12th Annual Hunter's Heroes Memorial Run this year.
Race time begins: 8:00 am for fun run and 8:30am for 5k on Saturday September 12, 2026 at the Clawson-Burnley park on the greenway trail in Boone, NC. We will have our annual 5k, as well as a kids fun run (1 mile). Invite your friends and family and support a great cause!
