Places to Run in Boone and Blowing Rock

Coming from out of town for the Hunter’s Heroes Memorial Run and need to fit in a fun run the Friday before? Here are a couple places to go!

  • The Greenway-

  • Boone’s greenway is located in town next to the parks and recreation center. On any nice day, many locals will be running or walking around the ~4 miles of paved trails

  • Price Lake Loop-

  • Beautiful 2.3-mile loop around Price Lake. Generally flat and my personal favorite. Definitely a trail run so beware of roots!

  • Moses Cone-

  • The trail up to Moses Cone Manor begins at Bass lake (another beautiful lake loop, especially if you want a short run/walk, 0.8 miles) and a ~2 mile walk to the manor on wide gravel paths.

  • Flat Top Tower-

  • This trail actually starts at the Moses Cone House! It is a 2.2 mile path up and 2.2 miles coming down the same way. The path is wide and well maintained, great for running. The fire tower at the top has a 360 view!

  • The ASU Campus Loop

  • Run around the Appalachian State University Campus!
