5. Get Some Sleep!
Sleep is essential for physical health. When we stay up late to get work done, hoping that accomplishing more will help us feel better, sleep is actually the better solution. Research shows that “adults who get fewer than seven hours of sleep — whether for just one night or over the course of days, weeks, or months — have more difficulty concentrating and more mood problems than people who sleep seven to nine hours per night.” Sleep makes you feel better, helps improve memory, sharpens your attention, lowers stress levels, and even helps maintain a healthy weight. Next time you feel like you need to stay up and work, try getting some sleep first. The next morning you will be more energized and focused for the tasks that the day holds.
