I know what some of you are thinking. Making breakfast requires extra time in the morning that you would rather spend sleeping. I get it. Throughout college I have learned the importance of eating breakfast before starting a long day at school or work. Skipping breakfast can result in a lack of energy and a lack of focus. Fitting breakfast into your schedule is worth the sacrifice!

Eating breakfast helps get your mind and body fueled for the day ahead. Dietitians and nutrition experts recommend a breakfast consisting of good carbs and fiber with protein. There are simple guidelines on how to choose a healthy breakfast. Stick with carb sources such as whole grain cereals or oatmeal. Fruit is always a good choice and is easy to take on the go. Eggs are the best source of protein for a healthy morning meal. Also keep in mind that Greek yogurt is a better source of protein than regular yogurt. Eating healthy in the morning, even something small, gets your body and metabolism going to help you make smart decisions throughout the day.
